A journey through life... with art

Art is a realm where imagination and reality collide to produce a unique representation of Nancy.

Like all artists she loved art since is she was a child. Whether it was making doll clothes, coloring, drawing or painting, she was totally immersed.

As an educator, because of this early start, art became integrated into everything she did, whether teaching college biology or special education preschool, holding arts and craft groups on a cruise ship, giving talks on art, painting classes at a local art store and multiple art & sip evenings.

Nancy, a former biologist who loves nature, takes thousands of scenic photos a year, each with the potential to inspire a piece of art. A simple view, memory or experience can be claimed, moments in time to share by transforming then into tangible visions.

Typically painting in acrylics and oils, Nancy, a lifelong learner, is expanded into, other mediums such as oil pastels, markers and branched out into photography and video production.

Her first Solo Show “Inspired by Nature” was held Fall 2023 at Green Spring Gardens showing 48 of her pieces. She is looking forward to her next Solo Show at River Farm, home of the the American Horticultural Society Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

Nancy McCarthy Patrick from Staten Island, NY now lives in Springfield, VA with her son and two cats. Her free time is used for reading cozy mysteries, watching YouTube Art videos and spending time with friends.
