Jay enjoys the beauty and variety of nature and tries to capture his wonder and joy in landscape paintings. The turn of the 20th century American tonalist painters are an inspiration for Jay, artists like Thomas Dewing, J. Francis Murphy, Dwight Tryon and George Inness.
Jay is an Exhibiting member at the Art League of Alexandria and a member of the Springfield Art Guild, and the Fairfax Art League. His work has appeared in the following juried shows at the Art League of Alexandria:
